    Hi 65 Donard!

I grew up in Manor Kilbride and commuted on the 65 bus for many years, first as a school kid then for work reasons. I even went out to Donard a few times before the service was discontinued. You mentioned on another thread that you had the 1954 bus timetable. I'm curious to know if and how the route differed, as it's topic of discussion up in my local bar. The route certainly changed a number of times while I was using it - at one stage it left from Abbey street, and for years went out via Clan Brassil St - Harold's Cross before changing to Rathmines - Rathgar (its current route).

I'd greatly appreciate your help in this regard.

    Gus Kilbride.

P.S. Am I correct in assuming that the buses of this period were green and eau-de-nil in colour? And British Leyland?

    Hi GK.

Just seen your messages, I will send you a full run down of the 65 history in the next day or so, actually just came back from Dublin yesterday. I worked on this route for 2 years in 1979/1980, did you use the service then?.
Anyways, I will reply back soon.

    Anthony (65Donard).
